Costs and Employee Contributions Rise

healthcare-iconAccording to a survey conducted by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, employer healthcare premiums rose by an average of 3.5% to 3.6% for all coverage types in 2013. Employee contributions also increased as employers shifted more of the cost burden to employees – with average contributions of $1,170 for single coverage, $2,940 for employee-plus-one and $4,421 for family coverage. These numbers represent increases ranging from 4.1% for employee plus one coverage to 4.7% for singles.
