1. Skipping breakfast and waiting too long between meals and snacks. Start the day with breakfast and then aim to eat small, healthy meals or snacks at least every three hours. Getting too hungry can lead to binges and cravings.
2. Going for a quick fix. Avoid any plans that promise results with little or no effort. Aim for a slow but steady weight loss of one to two pounds a week.
3. Letting other people tempt you. Your friends and family may not realize how important this lifestyle change is to you. Ask for their support, and tell them how they can help you.
4. Getting too little activity and too little sleep. Try to get at least 30 minutes of brisk exercise and eight hours of shut-eye every day.
